New Group

There has been some interest in an 'Other Board Games' group although not quite as many people have come forward as we had hoped might. On an experimental basis Carol Shergold has kindly agreed to join Other Board Games in with Scrabble. She will require some assistance from one other games player. Scrabble meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 1.45 p.m. A trial meeting will be held in the Guildhall on the normal Scrabble day of Tuesday 27th March when you will be able to discuss your ideas, suggest likely games etc. with the Group Co-ordinator. If you are interested come along with your ideas and any board games you may have and help make this venture a success. Again if you are unable to come along on the 27th March but would be interested in joining the group please telephone Roy Mather. N.B: We shall be able to purchase a limited amount of games if necessary but if anyone in U3A has games they no longer use that they would like to donate they would be gratefully receiv

New Group

Tai Chi: There has been some interest in forming a Tai Chi group. The class size would be limited to 20 and there is a cost involved because we have to use a qualified, insured instructor to run the course. If there are 20 in the class we shall be able to charge £3.50 which will include our 80p U3A fee. Age UK have offered to make a small donation so that we can hold a taster session for £2.50 to see if enough people would be interested and this taster session would be at 2 p.m. on Thursday 8th March at the Guildhall. It is envisaged that regular classes would take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday in the Guildhall from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you think you might be interested to come to the taster session to see if Tai Chi is for you, please telephone Roy Mather. If you are unable to come to the taster session but would be interested in joining the group please also phone Roy Mather to give your name. His details can be found in the Newsletter
