Membership Secretary: The approved Form 'Application for Membership' is for the sole use of the Membership Secretary. The Membership Secretary has sole responsibility in obtaining Member's permission and authority to hold personal details on the Membership Database and that it is held securely in accordance with the rules on data protection.
Newsletter Editor: The Newsletter Editor has sole responsibility in obtaining Member's permission and authority to publish their personal details in the Gloucester & District Branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) Newsletter using the approved Form of Disclosure Authority.
Website Manager: The Website Manager has sole responsibility in obtaining Member's permission and authority to publish their personal details on the Gloucester & District Branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) Website using the approved Form of Disclosure Authority.
Gloucester & District Branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) will ensure that Members right to privacy is dealt with fairly and lawfully in accordance with the data protection principles of the Data Protection Act.
The Data Protection Act 1998 regulates the use of 'personal data', which is essentially any information, however stored, about identifiable living individuals. As a 'data controller' under the Act, the Gloucester & District Branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) is required to comply.
